Iconic Singer, Prince, Dies Laura April 21, 2016 Hollywood Prince, the 7-time Grammy winner, has died. The legendary singer was 57 years old. His body was apparently found in his Paisley Park compound on Thursday. Reports confirm that he was suffering from the flu for quite a few weeks. On Friday, he was rushed to the hospital after his private plan had to make an emergency landing. “MTV is heartbroken and in utter disbelief at the news that the world has lost Prince Rogers Nelson so suddenly and so before his time,” the network said. “Prince was a once-in-a-lifetime artist who transcended every medium and genre he touched and created music with a passion and individuality that inspired multiple generations. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, friends and millions of fans.” He was an immediate success when he came into the scene back in the 1970s. “I Wanna Be Your Lover” is still a very popular song. In 2004, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Before his death, he released a total of 39 studio albums. “HITnRUN” and “One and Two” were his final albums, which released last year.
